Almost Christmas!

The work to fix all the problems with the wrap-around porch is done and the decking is going on.

The guys had to do some magic to get it to look nice.  Two layers of 2x4's were added to the top of the stringers to bring the deck up to a more reasonable height.  If this wasn't done there would be a step up to get into the house from the deck.

The decking is 2x6's so it really looks (and is) meaty.  You could park a car on this sucker.  Hmm...

At this point just the front deck boards on on.  It should be done by next weekend.

All the basement windows are in.  Gary had to work some more magic to get them in.  The openings in the concrete walls were too small.

The other windows and doors are getting ready to become part of the house.

See this whole in the floor under the planks?  In a couple of weeks it may turn into a stair case.  Really, the whole is supposed to be there.  We're not just plugging it with a stair case to cover it up.
