...And more roofing
This thing has lots and lots of roof structure.
Some people would say I'm compensating for loosing my hair.
Also, the basement steps are in. The 2x6 plank step boards are temporary.
The builder didn't want to mark up the good finished wood steps in the construction process so they'll go on later.
Also, the previous builder put a wall in along the side facing the camera and it should be a picket railing so that will change later on too.
Watch that last step. It's a doozy.
Notice the last step is quite tall.
Actually, that's by design. Eventually, the basement will get finished and when
that day comes the floor will get a raised, insulated, wood floor on top of the concrete slab.
I don't know about you but I never liked walking on concrete floors even if they have tile. The hope is that it won't feel so
much like a basement with a false floor on top of the slab. The door sill to the walkout and the basement windows
were also set in a little high with this future, false floor in mind. Likewise, the walls in the basement are 9 foot tall instead
of 8 foot to accommodate for this and HVAC duct work overhead.
Option: The false floor in the basement with the extra tall ceiling height will allow for a radiant heating system to be installed if I choose to add it later.
